Valencia in Spain is always a favourite of mine at this time of year. March or April usually guarantees warm enough weather to wear a T-shirt. If you prefer a more chilled city break, hop on a tram to the beach, or cycle through the Jardines del Turia avoiding the Summer crowds. If you want something more lively, Valencia has lost of options from a myriad of museums, a flourishing restaurant scene and nightlife to great shops. Valencia is simply bursting with Mediterranean exuberance.

Tenerife, nicknamed the Island of Eternal Spring, couldn’t be a better destination for a spring break. The island boasts 350km of coastline and 67km of beaches. A mix of white, gold and black sand, the beaches are described by Condé Nast Traveller as “gorgeous”. Teresitas and  El Bollullo are two of the most beautiful. Nature lovers or walking enthusiasts should head to Mount Teide (a 12,198-foot volcano and Spain’s highest peak), and the surrounding Teide National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a day of culture head to Tenerife’s capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The city is vibrant with a real Spanish feel to it with evocative, brightly painted buildings and sophisticated and quirky shops.

The cherry blossom in Japan during March and April must surely be THE spring event. This incredible season is complemented by the amazing gardens and palaces to be found in the city of Kyoto. If you are looking for the real Japan, this city is the perfect starting point and is the iconic tourist spot of Japan. Tokyo is most definitely worth a visit. This ancient Eastern city throbs with lights, culture, and movement so sure to both invigorate and bedazzle you the moment you step off the plane, that there is little wonder as to why this city is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

Known for its extreme weather conditions in summer and winter seasons, New York offers the best of both world in the spring months. The temperature is ideal for roaming the shops and sitting outside cafés without wearing any extra layers. The snow has gone and the scorching summer sun is yet to arrive: there’s no better way to start the day than with a spring stroll around Central Park.
